ETPL, the commercialisation arm for A*STAR launched A*StartCentral in 2016. Being a first-of-its-kind open innovation platform for deep-tech, it incubates and accelerates the growth of deep-tech startup ecosystem. Its domains includes but not limited to Medtech and Lifescience.As an open innovation community, A*StartCentral fosters cross-pollination and interaction amongst researchers, corporates, start-ups, investors and entrepreneurs across diverse disciplines. There are various start-up programmes that A*StartCentral operationalize for ETPL to bring A*STAR technologies closer to market needs. With a focus on the people, programmes and services are planned alongside its open innovation community building. ASC also boosts a facility offering such as wet lab and prototyping labs which occupied a space of over 10,000 square feet.
